So it is very possible to have system to run stuff and not enough moneys to buy full priced games left and right. I have a mid range PC at best (outdated at worst), which you could say is good enough, but that does not mean I can allow myself to buy every single game I want. So my rent, bills, girlfriend, food, loans and other things eat up money I earn and 60€ game makes a huge dent. Later on I got a loan for an RTX2070S, which I still have to pay to this day. Bills were low, so I saved up a lot to rent a nice apartment, buy lots of stuff and build a PC. Years passed, I worked my ass off while writing my University thesis. Besides, we lived in a small town, physical copies were unavailable and digital distribution was not as prominent. Those were the days! And of course my mum would not have money to buy every single game I wanted. Those were the days! Painkiller, Half Life, Silent Hill series, CS 1.6, Cabal Online, WOW, GTA VC and SA, Mafia and many, many more. This PC was not so powerful at the beginning of 2007, and yet until I caught up with all the games I missed since.1999 or so, I had a blast! Single core AMD Sempron Processor, 512 megs of RAM, some 256 megs AMD card, which I cannot remember. We got the funds! I bought a PC with some additional money from my mum when I was 16. My first gaming PC was thus: European Union started giving away funds for poorer people to buy appliances and IT tech back in a day. Yes, very true! I grew up with pirated games.
